The Appasaurus Founder Story

Appasaurus was born out of a pivotal moment in June 2024, when Dex Baker, a seasoned software developer, architect, and leader with over 35 years of experience, decided to turn challenge into opportunity. After a workforce reduction at Amazon, Dex saw an unfulfilled need in the training market: a program that not only taught AWS Cloud technology but also demonstrated its real-world applications to solve practical problems.

With a passion for teaching and a deep love of technology, Dex launched Appasaurus with a singular mission: to empower learners to master essential AWS skills at their own pace, supported by immersive, hands-on demos grounded in real-world use cases.

Dex’s journey to Appasaurus is steeped in resilience and leadership. As a United States Marine Corps veteran, he brings the same determination, discipline, and commitment to excellence to his training programs as he did to his service for the country. A strong advocate for the US military community, Dex is dedicated to helping veterans and others transition into rewarding careers in the tech industry.
